I spent the morning immersed in online databases and among old Iwi archives. I was fortunate enough to meet the team working on reestablishing the traditional place names within the Ngāi Tahu region. A cultural mapping project that focuses on bringing the voices of iwi members to the forefront.

Additionally, their mahi (work) focused on storytelling within the iwi. Giving agency back to family members to have the opportunity to tell the story of their relations.
