In Ubud there sits a patch of forest dedicated to the urban monkeys of Bali. Hoards of people walk around the temple compound to capture the perfect selfie with these creatures, as they roam around trees and statues without a second glance at the many camera flashes and people trying to gain their attention. Don't be mistaken by their uninterested attitudes, one wrong move or a second too long of a stare will have them rushing to chase you away. It is quite interesting how integrated these monkeys are to this hub of natural space in an ever-growing part of Ubud center. A reminder that we must continue to think about the impact that development has on the flora and fauna of spaces but more so how we can incorporate them into a country's tourism infrastructure.
