To envisage the South Island of Aotearoa is to see the vast white tipped mountains of the Southern Alps (Te Tiritiri-o-te-moana). The way the clouds hug the large mountains protruding from what is known as Te Waka a Māui (Māui's canoe), veiling your view of the continuous mountain range.
